    Home Language Support

This is the staff of Siyabulela Primary School in Langa.  The school has a brand new computer lab in a brand new building.  The teachers have just completed one year of computer literacy training with Radical Learning.  Talking Stories software has been installed on the computers, and the school has been supplied with hundreds of companion isiXhosa reading books.

I would like to know from Siyabulela teachers:

    1. What do you think of the isiXhosa Talking Stories?
    2. Was the Bridgeville Training Day helpful to you?
    3. Have you started using the software and books and worksheets with your classes?

I think it very useful especially for the IsiXhosa learners. it is easy very easy to learn in your mother tongue (isiXhosa). Teaching these kids in their mother tongue is very useful. The learners who learn in their mother tongue excell at school. Looking at overseas countries, parents decide on the language of instruction for their children.

    2. Hi there!!!

I am so excited about our new computer laboratory and so are the rest of staff members. However, we are yet to be fully operational, because internet is still a problem. We are working on it and soon we shall be running smoothly, thanks to our new Khanya deployee. Many thanks to WCED, Khanya and Radical Learning.

      Thanx Michael

      1. THE LETTER WILL MAKE THE PARENTS AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON AT SCHOOL, ALSO FOR THE PARENTS TO BE ABLE TOASSIST THEIR CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOL WORK. THIS WILL MAKE THE CHILDREN TO BE ABLE TO READ AS WELL AS EMPOWERING PARENTS.
      2. TALKING STORIES WILL MAKE THE CHILDREN BUILD THEIR SELF ESTEEM AND LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT LESSON, HOPING THAT THIS WILL IMPROVE OUR LITERACY SKILLS.

You need to seriously think about working on growing this blog into a serious authority in this market. You clearly have a fundamental handle of the topics everyone is looking for on this blog anyways and you could possibly even earn a buck or two off of some offers. I would look into following recent trends and raising the amount of write ups you put up and I bet you’d begin seeing some awesome traffic soon. Just a thought, good luck in whatever you do!

    20. kathy says:

Thanks Maureen! This is my first blog, and I’m still feeling my way and learning as I go along. I really appreciate your encouragement.
